About Jamie Jones
Jamie Jones is a visual artist whose work channels a collective childhood experience, painting children dressed as pop culture heroes and anti-heroes. These figures represent more than just dress-up; they radiate ambition, confidence, and the raw energy of childhood optimism. Each one oozes brattitude.
Working primarily in oil, Jones creates moody, character-driven portraits that blend classical lighting and composition with bold, contemporary symbols. The children he paints are often masked, made-up or costumed, caught in a space between imagination and identity.
He began painting in 2020 and moved into full-time practice in 2023. In early 2024, a major commission of 235 works for a landmark hotel in Cyprus followed his solo exhibition Misled Youth, marking a defining moment in his career.
Jamie’s work continues to explore the emotional weight of growing up, the power we pretend to have, the myths we build for ourselves, and the characters we become to face the world. His portraits invite viewers to reconnect with that unruly spark inside themselves, where mischief meets meaning.
