Jamie Jones

Born in Chester, Jamie Jones is a British figurative painter working in Paphos, Cyprus.

A raised chin, a borrowed jacket, the way someone holds a room. Jones paints the small decisions people make about how they want to be seen. Working in oil, he uses light to draw attention to a face or a gesture and lets the rest of the scene fall into shadow.

In Playtime Mafia, children assembled their own versions of power from masks and homemade costumes. His developing work follows that interest in how people carry themselves into everyday encounters, across ages and backgrounds.

Jones began painting in 2020 and established his full-time studio practice in 2023. His exhibitions include Misled Youth in Cyprus, Aqua Art Miami with Vertical Gallery in 2025 and Ascending in Chicago in 2026.
